For the third year in a row Level Grove students joined students around the world in Hour of Code.  Each year in early December millions of students spend an hour learning computer coding.  This year all students in kindergarten through fifth grade had a chance to try their hand at coding using the fun and easy program that are available on the Hour of Code website.  According to the Hour of Code website, 10% of the world's students participate in this event.  Level Grove students did a great job of taking up the challenge especially since the school's chromebooks made it possible for students to have access to a device.

A special thanks to Dr. Randy Hollandsworth at Piedmont College who loaned us their Dot and Dash robots.  The students enjoyed some extra coding challenges with this robots and the Osmo coding kit and an unplugged activity that teaches computer coding thinking.

Kimberly Acosta and Mary Nubern along with other fifth graders are shown coding in the media center.
