Level Grove Elementary found out in August that we had been chosen to participate in the Farm to School Program this year.  There are several components to the Farm to School program including having monthly taste tests of local produce, establishing a school garden, and working with FoodCorp Service Worker Susie Burton on a weekly basis.

The first Taste Test was held on September 25th.  Students and staff sampled three different types of apples from Chattooga Belle Farms, one of the local providers of cafeteria fruit.  Mr. Ed Land, owner of Chattooga Belle Farm, was on hand as well as volunteers with Northeast Georgia Farm to School.  The results of the taste test will be shared with students on the morning broadcast as well as on a bulletin board in the cafeteria.  What will the winner be?  Red Delicious, Golden Delicious, or Fugi??

Watch for updates in the near future about our raised bed garden beds.
