The students of Ms. Courtney Moore wanted to do something to say thank you for everything the police do for us. They decided to make packages of homemade hot chocolate mix for the Cornelia police department and the Habersham County Sheriffs. They had to use their math skills to add up how many gifts they needed to make and calculate just how much of each ingredient they needed. Each student worked hard using skills they already had  (such as addition, subtraction multiplication) and even had to learn few more (such as multiplying fractions). Each student worked hard to make sure they had something special to give our officers.

On Monday, December 11th Santa made a surprise visit to school to help the students present the gifts to representatives of the police and sheriff forces.  Pictured with the officers are (left to right):  Ms. Courtney Moore, Jackson Lowery, Danny Spurlock, Alex Erwin, and Jose Navarro.
